Visitor Restrictions For Medical Surgical Unit during C-Difficile Outbreak
Please be advised that due to a C. Difficile outbreak Stevenson Memorial Hospital is enforcing visitor restrictions on the Medical Surgical unit starting Monday, June 01, 2015. Visitor restrictions will include:
- Maximum of 2 visitors per patient
- Visiting hours of 2 - 8pm
- Visitors must be over the age of 12
- A nurse on the unit may make exceptions for paliative reasons
Stevenson Memorial has implemented strong precautions and safety measures which includes the enforcement of hand hygiene, putting in place new environmental cleaning processes, and a firm commitment to taking a closer look at how we prescribe antibiotics.
By being proactive we are confident that we can stop the transmission of C-difficile and come out of this outbreak in the near term. We thank patients and their families for their understanding as we know these restrictions will pose challenges.
